Iowa Fraud Fighters Forum Offered in Dubuque

posted 8/6/2014 in Press Releases

Iowa Fraud Fighters has scheduled a forum in Dubuque to educate Iowans on how to avoid and combat investment and insurance scams.  Con artists target people age 60 and older, swindling more than 5 million Americans out of almost $3 billion each year. The Iowa Insurance Division encourages you to double-check before you invest and shield your savings from scammers and fraudulent investment schemes.

Iowa Insurance Commissioner Nick Gerhart invites you to attend an Iowa Fraud Fighters Forum presented by your state regulator, the Iowa Insurance Division. Arm yourself with knowledge of common scams and learn how to avoid and report fraud. Empower yourself by attending this educational forum and complementary luncheon on Thursday, September 11 from Noon to 2 p.m. at the Grand River Center in Dubuque.  This free event is limited to the first 200 respondents. RSVP by September 4 by calling 866-559-7114 or online at IowaFraudFighters.gov. The Iowa Fraud Fighters forum is cosponsored by Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging and the Iowa Insurance Division.

Empowering you to age with confidence.
