Adult Day Services

A Day Can Make All the Difference!

NEI3A’s Adult Day Services provides professional care for older adults who need assistance or supervision during the day.  These services will help family members and caregivers by providing:

  • Peace of mind knowing their loved one is safe with a caring staff who understands their cognitive, medical and emotional needs.
  • Free time they need to help them concentrate on work or run errands with less stress and worry.
  • Confidence that their loved one’s day is filled with helpful activities to stimulate their minds as well as allowing them to connect with peers.

Locations:
NEI3A offers Adult Day Services at the following locations:

  • Manchester: Delaware County Senior Center - 1208 W. Marion Street
  • Maquoketa: Jackson County Senior Center - 1000 E. Quarry Street

Who is Eligible:

  • People age 45 & older meeting criteria
  • Veterans may qualify under VA waiver
  • People with medical conditions such as depression and diabetes

Professional Staff:

  • Supervised by onsite registered nurse and dedicated, compassionate trained staff
  • Staff trained in Alzheimer’s and other dementias
  • Credentialed through the department of inspections and appeals

Activities:

  • Arts, crafts and puzzles
  • Daily exercise class (public welcome to join)
  • Karaoke
  • Bingo and other group games
  • Musical entertainment
  • Special interest
  • Card playing
  • Memory enhancing activities
  • Educational activities

Services:

  • Noon meal
  • RTA transportation available
  • Wheelchair accessible

Goals:

  • Provide free time for caretaker
  • Prevent caregiver burnout
  • Promote physical, mental and emotional improvement in senior adults
  • Prevent or delay nursing home or other system placement
  • Promote a higher quality of life
  • Promote increased socialization and make new friends
  • Promote feelings of self-worth
