Make Volunteering Your New Year's Resolution

posted 12/18/2013 in Press Releases

Want a New Year’s resolution that will make you feel good but doesn’t require starving yourself or spending hours sweating in a gym? Try volunteering!  NEI3A relies on thousands of volunteers each year to help us with our mission to empower older individuals, caregivers, and people with disabilities remain independent and in their homes for as long as they desire.  To do this we have the most wonderful volunteers that help deliver meals to home bound individuals and help at the Senior Centers by answering the phone, helping with the meal orders, making coffee, helping with the meals at lunch time, organizing educational activities, and much more!

While volunteering is obviously a great benefit to your community by helping people in need, it can also benefit you.  Studies have shown that people who volunteer have a lower rate of depression and heart disease, have greater self-esteem, and greater function ability! It’s a win-win situation for everyone.

Volunteers are in constant demand!  You can volunteer as much or as little as you want – whether it is once a week or once a month – every bit helps.  To find out more about volunteer opportunities at NEI3A call 1-800-779-8707 and get connected to a volunteer opportunity in your community.

Empowering you to age with confidence.
