NEI3A Changing Meal Services in Manchester

posted 10/5/2018 in Press Releases

Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging (NEI3A) has been offering congregate meals at the Delaware County Senior Center as well as home delivered meals to home bound older adults in the Manchester area for over 30 years - originally through Scenic Valley Area Agency on Aging until it merged into NEI3A.  Recently, the Delaware County Senior Center Board of Directors gifted the building which houses the Delaware County Senior Center to Good Neighbor Society. Due to this transaction, NEI3A’s lease will be ending effective October 31.

“NEI3A remains dedicated to empowering older individuals to remain in their homes by providing services to the Manchester area,” states Donna Harvey, NEI3A CEO.  “We will continue our home delivered meal program, offering not only a nutritious meal, but that much needed personal contact with older adults who are unable to get out of their homes without assistance.”

The home delivered meal program will continue delivering hot, nutritious meals to home bound older adults in the Manchester area.  If you have received home delivered meals through the Delaware County Senior Center in the past, then there will be not change to your service.  To order your meals, contact Brenda Fuller at 319-231-1623.

“We want to build on the tradition and foundation NEI3A has created. We plan to provide meals and adult day services at the Delaware County Senior Center” in a statement issued by Good Neighbor Society’s CEO.  “Our goal is to deliver compassionate Christian care to those we serve.”
